However, this enhanced energy metabolism is useful for absolutely everyone in terms of cognitive performance (concentration and memory) and immune function etc. Mitochondria production tends to decline significantly as we age towards and beyond mid-life, so cordycepin can help to mitigate many problems associated with age-related deterioration.   Cordycepin has a substantial regulatory effect on pro-inflammatory pathways in the body too (NF-kB, TNF-a, iNOS, inflammasomes, IL-1B etc). It also stimulates the activity of endogenous antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase. The combination of inflammation and antioxidant management has proven cordycepin as a valuable agent in reducing inflammation within the central nervous system, leading to it being studied as a potential treatment for neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury and depression.   Another way in which cordycepin can help to treat neurodegenerative diseases is the influence it has on various signaling pathways in the body including MAPK, mTOR and PI3K/Akt amongst others. This activity also enables cordycepin to positively affect other pathologies that are driven by these signaling pathways including certain types of cancer. Cordycepin possesses tumor inhibiting properties as well as supporting the destruction of malignant cells via the process of apoptosis (programmed cell death). Cordycepin has also shown potential in disrupting stem cell activity in the development of leukemia.   Likewise, by regulating these same signaling pathways cordycepin can also offer a favorable impact on diabetes mellitus, because it can reduce the levels of elevated blood glucose and increase the metabolism of fats within the body. The increase of ATP that is caused by cordycepin can improve the storage and utilization of glycogen within the liver too.   Cordycepin has both anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties in the treatment of osteoarthritis. While I find this a terrific program for myself to work on the key words are "Group Exercise." If you think of leading a group of folk through this workout, you can see the strategy used to design it for this very purpose. Even though it is done with Clubbells, the movements take little footprint and the swing is controlled. This would be important to leading a group of lined up people. The small footprint would allow a larger class size. The strategic control of the use of the Clubbells allows for a safe workout.
